My background was in drug development and research, which may explain why I am fascinated with the underlying mechanisms that make yoga “work.” And by “work” I mean “effective” not that the postures, or practice is “hard”. This month I have been reading a lot about the science behind the practice. I’ve heard antecdotal evidence for years, but I’d like some science with some meat behind it, or at least tofu and grit. This month we are pleased to be a sponsor of the Yoga and Science conference, chaired by Deepak Chopra and Eddie Stern. We look forward to sharing more of the “how” behind yoga in the coming months. Who knows, that data might be just what your reluctant friend needs to join you for a yoga class.
